EALL participates in Colloquium at Exeter University
EALL, 3 August 2009
Professor Wim Voermans, dean of the European Academy of Law and Legislation (EALL), chaired a session at the Advanced Colloquium on Regulatory Reform. The seminar was organised by the Centre for European Governance at Exeter University on 6-7 July and is held bi-annually.

The Colloquium was a rich source of practicable insights and showed practitioners as well as academics that regulatory governance is becoming a booming field of academic research.  A special topic was the possible re-definition of regulatory reform issues in the wake of the financial crisis. It brought together a host of senior academics and PhD students to discuss a broad range of regulatory reform topics such as management and organisation of regulation; the role of expertise in Independent Regulatory Agencies; measuring regulatory quality: indicators of regulatory management systems; towards the assessment of alternative modes of regulation: explaining success and failure of self and co-regulation; and International Financial Reporting Standards: a new way to build European norms.
