EALL, 7-11 January 2010
Following an invitation of the Jordanian government, a team of experts including prof. Wim Voermans (EALL) embarked on a SIGMA-mission to Amman, from 7-11 January 2010. SYGMA, a cooperation of the OECD and the European Commission, took on the job of interactively peer reviewing the policy-making and legislative drafting capacities of Jordan. The review in particular concerned the functioning of the Legislation Opinion Bureau.
The experts met with Jordan senior civil servants and exchanged experiences and practices of legislative drafting and organization of the legislative processes.
The mission proved to be productive and follow-up projects are anticipated in the near future.
