A group of 15 representatives of the Turkish Grand National Assembly participated in a studyvisit. The visit was aimed at offering the experts more insight in the legislative procedures in the Netherlands
The study visit is one of the activities of the MATRA-project, currently conducted by EALL in Turkey. Meetings with Dutch experts, provided the participants with an overview of the Dutch legislative procedures. Exchange with experts and officials of the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives), the Eerste Kamer (Senate) and the Council of State gave the Turkish officials new references for their practice. Dutch 'best practice' could possibly be catalyst for the development of new provisions, or the amendment of existing ones. The outcomes of this study visit will be used to decide what subjects will qualify for a follow up.
